Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy has bagged a historical achievement, clinching the Best International Act at the 2023 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
The ‘Best International Act’ category featured esteemed artists such as Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.
This remarkable win marked Burna Boy’s fourth consecutive victory in the Best International Act category, making him the first African artiste to achieve this feat, having previously won the award in 2019, 2020, 2021, and now in 2023.
While Burna Boy couldn’t be present at the Sunday night show on June 25, the award was accepted on his behalf by the talented US-based Ghanaian actor and comedian, Micheal Blackson.
Despite his absence, Burna Boy’s impact has been undeniable, particularly over the past couple of years. His 2022 album, “Love, Damini,” achieved worldwide acclaim, solidifying his status as a global sensation.
Burna Boy’s consistent success and recognition within the music industry continue to establish him as a trailblazer and an inspiration for aspiring artists worldwide.
