KanyiDaily recalls that during a recent interview with Brut Afrique, Davido claimed that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to achieve stardom.

Davido, however, said he was excited to see “new cats” like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake now making remarkable strides in the music industry.

The statement made by Davido has generated diverse reactions on social media, with some fans of Burna Boy expressing their disagreement, as they believe the Grammy-winning artist should not be compared to emerging musicians.

Reacting on her Instagram story, Nissi Ogulu clapped back at Davido by sharing a video from Burna Boy’s recent sold-out concert in London. She sarcastically referred to her brother as the “new cat” and emphasized his hard work in the industry.”

The caption of the video read: “As e dey sweet us e dey pain dem.”
