Nigerian singer, Ekenedirichukwu Ijemba, popularly known as Humblesmith, has shared the story behind the inspiration for his hit song ‘Osinachi.’

Humblesmith rose to prominence in 2015 when he released ‘Osinachi’ featuring Phyno, which was followed by the remix of the song, featuring Davido.

During a conversation with former Big Brother Naija housemate Kim Oprah on Hip TV, the singer revealed that he encountered numerous obstacles on his journey to success.

At one point, He said he considered going to the church to ask for money to eat but quickly changed his mind upon realizing that he was not meant to be a beggar.

The singer said he was eventually inspired right there in the church, and he found himself compelled to write the song “Osinachi” which captured the essence of his experience and emotions during that challenging period.

When asked about his hit song “Osinachi”, Humblesmith said: “OSI for life all the way. Osinachi is still in existence. Osinachi is real. The song is real. You are making me emotional now.

“Osinachi back then, that was 2015. I came to Lego 2012. Do everything they said make person do. I sing? I do video. I even go London shoot video come back. Nothing dey sub. So I was like wetin dey sub? You said make I pray, I don pray. You said make I fast, I don fast. So at the end of the day, Osinachi just pop up from nowhere.

“Every lyrics in that song is just me. This is true life. So it has something to connect to everybody. You get my point? So I got the inspiration in the church. I’ve said that before, but let me just say it again.

“I wrote the song in the church. I went to church to beg for money to eat. But when I reached the church, my mind tell me say “Guy you no be begger o”. You can’t beg. So God bless me with the song and in the church.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer, Waje has advised churchgoers to do away with toxicity, noting that some people are doing the devil’s work for him and still praying against him.
