Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has revealed that her relationship with Nigerian singer, Iyanya, failed because he allegedly cheated on her with Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.
Yvonne Nelson, who started dating Iyanya in 2012 before their relationship eventually came to an end in 2015, disclosed this in her recently published book titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.’
In the book’s tenth chapter, the actress revealed the circumstances surrounding the end of her relationship with the singer, shedding light on his alleged unfaithfulness involving Tonto Dikeh and other female members of his crew.
Nelson said she thought the singer’s gesture of tattooing her initials “YN” on his waist and giving her a shoutout on his hit song ‘Ur Waist’ was an assurance that they could be together forever.
However, the actress said she began receiving calls informing her about Iyanya’s affair with Dikeh who the singer also named in his “Ur Waist” song.
She said as her suspicions grew, they were validated when Tonto Dikeh herself responded to her public expressions of dismay, urging her to move on.

“We had a decent relationship. Breakfast in bed and all the niceties of a relationship one could think of. I had the assurance that he was someone I could be with forever. He tattooed my initials, YN, on his wrist,” Nelson wrote.
“I thought that was a big deal. One can therefore imagine my shock when I returned to Ghana after one of my visits to Nigeria and someone called me from his house.
“The caller said anytime I left Iyanya’s place, another actress came over to him and sometimes slept over. The person felt strongly that there was something going on between them and thought I should know.
“The actress turned out to be Tonto Dikeh of Nigeria, one of the female celebrities Iyanya named in his ‘Ur Waist’ song. When I was convinced about the authenticity of the information I received, I was heartbroken.

“I took to Twitter to rant and vent. Tonto Dikeh responded on Twitter, saying people changed and so did feelings, so I should move on. I later heard more stories of what Iyanya did with some of his crew members.
“It convinced me that what happened between him and Tonto Dikeh wasn’t an isolated incident. It was a pattern, his way of life. I knew I eventually would have left even if Tonto Dikeh didn’t come into the picture.”
This comes a few weeks after Iyanya opened up about his failed relationship with Yvonne Nelson who he described as an amazing person.
KanyiDaily recalls that Yvonne Nelson had also accused Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, of impregnating her and refusing to take responsibility for the child, which forced her to abort the pregnancy.
