President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to embark on a visit to Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State on Thursday. The purpose of his visit is to meet with two prominent traditional rulers: the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta, and the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in Ijebu-Ode.
According to reports from Vanguard, Babatunde Olaotan, an aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun, has disclosed this information in an invitation message addressed to leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Although the exact reason for President Tinubu’s visit to the two traditional rulers was not disclosed, it is expected to be an important engagement.
The invitation message stated, “You’re cordially invited by Governor Dapo Abiodun – CON to welcome His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu – GCFR who will be paying us a visit tomorrow, 29th of June, 2023, in Ijebu-Ode and Abeokuta.”
To ensure a warm reception for President Tinubu, the message further outlined the gathering points and timings for party leaders, elders, members, and supporters. Supporters in Ogun East Senatorial District were instructed to converge at Awujale’s place at 8:30 am, while those in Ogun Central and Ogun West were directed to gather at the Alake’s place at 10:30 am.
This visit marks President Tinubu’s return to Ogun State since his previous visit on January 25, 2023. During that visit, as part of his presidential campaign, he raised concerns about alleged attempts to undermine the general elections by certain forces.
Excitement and anticipation are building as the people of Ogun State eagerly await President Tinubu’s visit and the outcomes it may bring.
