United States President, Joe Biden encountered a momentary stumble as he tripped over an obstacle on stage during the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado Springs.

The 80-year-old president, who addressed more than 900 graduates and shook hands with a cadet at Falcon Stadium, was making his way back to his seat when he inadvertently lost his balance and fell forward.

Air Force personnel swiftly assisted him to his feet, and he showed no signs of needing further aid. While rising, Biden pointed towards the object that had caused the mishap—a small black sandbag positioned on the stage.

The president seemed to be in good spirits as he appeared fine while sitting back down during Air Force Academy graduation on Thursday, June 1.

Following the incident, White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt reassured the public, stating, “He’s fine. There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands.”

President Joe Biden is the oldest person to hold the presidency and remains physically fit according to his official doctor’s report. He engages in regular exercise and has sought a second term in the upcoming 2024 election.
