Bandits had last Friday night, abducted five students of the institution, which angered the students to block the road as a result of which several motorists were left stranded for several hours.

According to reports, efforts by the security agents to disperse the students proved abortive as many of them sat on the main road, calling on the appropriate authorities to take urgent action on the security situation in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Muazu Abubakar who was at the scene of the incident appealed to the protesting students to allow motorists to pass through the road but they refused to listen to his plea.

Hundreds of vehicles were packed on the road, while the students kept on shouting saying that the governments have failed.

It is unclear whether the protesting students have left the road at the time of this report.
