Georgina Onuoha Tackles Eniola Badmus For Arresting Lady Who Defamed Her

Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha has criticized her colleague, Eniola Badmus, for intimidating a lady, Ego Blessing Okoye, who accused her of involvement in professional pimping.

KanyiDaily recalls that Eniola Badmus recently arrested and paraded Ego Blessing Okoye who claimed she is a “professional pimp” who connected young girls with top politicians for financial gains.

Reacting on her Instagram page, Georgina Ohuoha expressed her discontent with the treatment inflicted on the lady, stating that Badmus had taken the wrong approach in seeking justice.

Georgina emphasized that seeking damages for defamation would have been the appropriate course of action rather than resorting to arrest. She asserted that slander or defamation is not a criminal offense warranting such treatment, and the police should not be employed as a tool of intimidation.

Georgina advised Eniola Badmus to pursue legal action against Ego for defamation and seek restitution for any damage done to her reputation. She criticized the police officers involved, calling their actions an abuse of power and urged them to uphold the rule of law instead of indulging in such ineptitude.

The actress emphasized that in a democratic society, the law should prevail over personal grievances, and using the police force to parade someone like a criminal is unacceptable.

Georgina Onuoha urged Eniola Badmus to let go of the power play and take the matter to court rather than continue with the public spectacle.

She also directed her criticism at the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, expressing her disappointment in the police force for allowing such misuse of power to occur.

She wrote: “In any functioning society, if someone defames you, it is within your rights to seek damages done to your reputation. What she did was wrong and defamatory. Eniola your next line of action will be to sue her for defamation and seek restitution.

“Arresting her means you are equally breaking the law. Slander or defamation is not a criminal offense that warrants arrest and parading this young woman like a criminal. Yes, she defamed you, sue her for damages.  This is an abuse of power and intimidation on your part. Use the law diligently and not oppressively. Shame on the police officers indulging in this nonsense.

“Eniola Badmus, you are within your rights to sue her for defamation and damages done to your person and name. Arresting means you are equally abusing the law. Right of speech is her right as well as yours. If she threatened your person and wished you bodily harm, yes then arrest her. This power play or show is laughable and beneath you.

“Let it go now and take her to court. Stop parading her like a criminal. @benjamimhundeyin your men should not be engaging in such ineptitude. This is an abuse of power and the police should not be used as a weapon of intimidation.

“We are in a democracy and the rule of law just prevails over personal grievances. This is tantamount to kidnapping by @eniola_badmus and members of the police force.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Eniola Badmus said that an apology alone would not suffice, stressing that she intends to pursue legal action to hold Ego Blessing Okoye accountable for her defamatory remarks.
