The Abuja police command is currently on the hunt for a suspect who allegedly vanished with a Mercedes Benz GLB 250, prompting a complaint from a car dealer named Manga.
According to the complaint, Manga entrusted the vehicle to a man named Henry for a test drive. However, during the test drive, Henry took advantage of a brief moment when Manga’s friend, who accompanied him, stepped out to withdraw money from a nearby point of sale (PoS) operator. Seizing the opportunity, Henry promptly disappeared with the car.
Manga expressed his frustration, stating, “You know how it is, there’s no traffic, no hold-up in Abuja, and that’s how he absconded with the car.” The stolen vehicle, valued at N55 million and with a mileage of 19,000, belonged to Manga’s friend who also deals in cars.
Josephine Ameh, spokesperson for the Abuja police command, confirmed that the incident had been reported and assured the public that efforts were underway to apprehend the suspect. Ameh stated, “It is a huge loss to the vehicle owner, and we are committed to getting to the root of the incident.”
The police investigation remains ongoing, and further updates on the case are expected in due course.
