Nigerian sprint sensation, Tobi Amusan has showcased her exceptional talent by claiming victory in the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League.
Tobi Amusan’s incredible performance on Sunday night, July 2, 2023, saw her dominate the race, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 12.52 seconds.
She displayed remarkable speed and left her competitors in her wake. Sarah Lavin secured second place with a personal best of 12.73 seconds, while Pia Skrzyszowska finished third with a time of 12.78 seconds.
Amusan’s triumph in Stockholm came on the heels of her second-place finish in the 100m hurdles event on Friday at the Lausanne Diamond League. On that occasion, she was surpassed by Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who achieved a remarkable time of 12.40 seconds.
Notably, this victory marked Amusan’s first Diamond League event win of the season, following her earlier success at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica. Her outstanding performances this season have solidified her reputation as a formidable athlete in the 100m hurdles discipline.
Amusan currently holds the world record in the 100m hurdles and she is considered a frontrunner to secure the coveted gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
