Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas has expressed shock over the death of the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Victor Bala Kona.
Kona passed away in the early hours of Sunday in Abuja after a brief illness.
In a terse statement posted on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle on Monday, Governor Kefas said Kona’s demise came to him as a rude shock and described the deceased as a political icon.
He said Kona will be remembered as someone with great influence, who served God and humanity.
The governor consoled the family, followers, and friends of the deceased as well as the PDP family.
He, however, noted that he is consoled by the fact that “we all will leave this Earth one day, and our acts and deeds will stand in place of our being. I pray that his soul continues to rest peacefully, with his Maker. Amen.”
