"Arsenal Players Injured Me Because They Don't Want Me To Join Their Club" – Falz [Video]

KanyiDaily recalls that Falz had revealed how he sustained an injury while playing football with friends, and he underwent surgery on May 2, 2023, to repair his torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

During a recent conversation on Cool FM, hosted by BBNaija reality star, Tacha, the 32-year-old rapper shared the story of his knee injury and subsequent surgical intervention.

He jokingly claimed that his prowess as a striker incited envy among Arsenal players after he was invited by the football club, leading them to conspire against him and injure him.

Falz said, “What actually happened is that Arsenal football club contacted me that okay we are looking for a striker, so I go for training before they sign me with a permanent contract.

“I’m doing that training but some players there don’t want me to join their club, so they injured me. In that process, I had to go for surgery.”

Falz recounted how he underwent an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery due to the extent of the injury. He expressed bewilderment at the occurrence, considering his long-standing history of playing football from a young age.

He said, “It was a very difficult time for me. I had ACL reconstruction surgery. Your ACL is like a ligament that holds your knee together. What actually happened is that that ligament torn totally. So the knee kind of scattered.

“It was an actual football injury. I was just running and the thing just comot like that. I don’t know how it happened because I have been playing football since I was a child. And everything was going smoothly. Maybe on that fateful day, I didn’t stretch well.

“But it always happen. It’s a slightly common injury for athletes. I’m glad I’m back. I’m up and running now. It’s a one-time surgery. Now I’m in rehab doing physiotherapy. Just exercising and trying to build the muscle back to 100 per cent.”
