Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale said that the achievements of Nigerian musicians have overshadowed the accomplishments of their Ghanaian counterparts.
Shatta Wale stated this on his Twitter page was reacting to the recent sold-out show organized by Nigerian singer, Asake, at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena.
The dancehall singer, who shared his thoughts on the surging influence of Nigerian music, likened the music industry in Ghana to a “feeding bottle,” while he referred to the Nigerian music sector as a “Hennessy bottle.”
He noted that Ghanaians are curious about how Nigerians “achieve such significant success”, stressing that by relinquishing judgmental attitudes, people might uncover the “formula” for success.
Shatta Wale said, “Nigerians [artistes] are making Ghana music look like feeding bottle compared to Hennessy bottle. Congrats to Asake meeenn!!!
“You guys deh run tooo fast …F*ck PS: Some Ghana man say how do they do it?
“Me: when you stop judging people here like you are angels, I think we can get the formula. Naija is winning BIG TIME !!! My people.”
