Lionel Messi of Inter Miami has been assigned a 93% chance of winning the Ballon d’Or this year, ahead of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
According to Diario AS, Messi is set to set a new record by winning the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time.
This comes after the 36-year-old won the World Cup with Argentina in December 2022.
Messi’s outstanding performance in Qatar, combined with his remarkable start to life in MLS, has moved him up to 1/14 odds to win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Haaland.
