Anthony Joshua, a British-Nigerian boxer, has stated that he would like to see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo square off in a boxing bout.
According to the 33-year-old British heavyweight fighter, he wants them to continue their personal rivalry in the ring, but he believes the Portuguese star will triumph over the Argentina great.
In a YouTube interview, Joshua was asked to identify two non-boxers he’d like to see fight based only on their personalities, and he responded with ‘Ronaldo vs Messi,’ moving one of contemporary football’s deadliest rivalries into a new battleground.

When asked who he thought would win, Joshua responded “Ronaldo,” adding, “I love Messi and Ronaldo.” Messi, on the other hand, has that vision. I can see him bobbing and weaving, angles, but it’d be difficult. They’re both equally talented.’
Joshua refused to name a non-boxer he would like to face in the ring in a cross-over bout, adding, “I have no beef with anyone.”
When confronted with the prospect of meeting the Portuguese icon, Joshua responded, ‘Nah, I respect Ronaldo.’
