Victor Boniface of Nigeria has been named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for August.
Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface’s Bundesliga team, made the announcement on their X handle.
The 22-year-old won the accolade ahead of RB Leipzig winger Xavi Simons and Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.
The attacker has made a strong start to his career at Leverkusen.

In August, the former Union St. Gilloise forward scored twice and assisted once for Leverkusen.
He is also a candidate for Bundesliga Player of the Month.
