Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku has expressed her fear that the death of 27-year-old singer, Mohbad could be swept under the carpet.
KanyiDaily recalls that Mohbad died at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances on September 12, and was buried the following day in Lagos.
Following Mohbad’s death, Nigerians have protested nationwide while demanding justice for the late singer who left behind his wife and their five-month-old son.
Taking to her Instagram page, Mary Njoku lamented that despite the collective mourning and outcry across the country, she feared justice might be evaded.
She criticized the state of the justice system in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for accountability and urged everyone to unite in demanding justice.
Mary Remmy Njoku emphasized that the call for justice for Mohbad wasn’t just about the singer, but also a plea for a system that has long failed the people.
The actress highlighted the troubling situation where Mohbad had filed a police report but received no action, ultimately leading to his demise.
Mary wrote, “This is heartbreaking! With all our voices, cries, in fact, the whole country has been in mourning for weeks now. Yet we still believe there is s possibility that it can be swept under the carpet.
“This is a spittle on the face of the Justice system in Nigeria. Haba! Our system can’t be that broken na”.
She added, “Haaaaa! Dem no fit try am o! In fact, make dem no think am sef!!
“justiceformohbad isn’t just about Mohbad. It’s about the system that has failed her people for Sooo long!!!
“According to the News, Mohbad filed a police report and NOTHING was done. Now he is dead.
