Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed his belief that most “rugged” candidates tend to win elections in Nigeria.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Presidential Election Tribunal convened in Abuja on Wednesday to rule on the petitions brought by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively against President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Justice Haruna Tsammani’s five-man-led tribunal ruled in favour of Tinubu over the 25% victory claimed by Obi in the presidential election and Chicago’s drug-dealing forfeiture brought by Atiku, among others.
During the ruling, Davido took to his Twitter page to hint at the importance of unity among political factions for a successful democracy. He wrote, “A divided house cannot stand… everybody long throat… well.”
The singer further delved into the discussions surrounding the court and tribunal proceedings saying, “Nigeria Election nah by who rugged pass.”
In response to a fan’s query about whether his uncle, the current Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke had achieved his position by ‘ruggedity’, Davido succinctly responded with two words: “MEN MOUNT.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Davido recently recounted how he met his wife, Chioma Rowland, for the first time at Babcock University and she ignored him despite being a star.
