According to reports, Nigeria attacker Victor Osimhen is among the nominees for the 2023 FIFA Men’s Ballon d’Or.
Since the award’s inception in 1999, Osimhen is the first Nigerian to be nominated.
Last season, the 24-year-old had a productive season with Serie A champions Napoli.
In 32 league games, the striker scored 26 goals to help Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

Osimhen also scored five goals for the Partenopei in the UEFA Champions League.
He has also started the current season well for Rudi Garcia’s team, scoring three goals in three games.
