The chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu has refuted a report suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is considering him for the position of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The report originated from a post made by a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Imran Muhammad, on a social media platform.
In the Twitter post, Muhammad suggested that President Tinubu might make Tony Elumelu the next CBN governor.
“According to a source, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor,” Muhammad wrote.
In response to this, Tony Elumelu addressed the matter on his own Twitter page, where he simply commented, “LOL. No, please. This is false news!”
