Al Ittihad may make a second offer for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah before the Saudi Pro League window expires on Thursday.
Senior club officials believe they should wait until next summer, while others believe it is worthwhile to make one more attempt to get Salah.
The SPL, through chief executive Saad Al Lazeez and director of football Michael Emenalo, would have to approve any new bid first.
On Thursday, Liverpool rejected a verbal bid from Al Ittihad for up to £150 million for Salah.
