Tim Sherwood, a former Premier League player and manager, has selected the finest signing of the recently closed summer transfer window.
Manchester United, he claims, missed out on signing the best player available this summer by failing to compete with Arsenal for Declan Rice.
Rice, 24, joined Arsenal from West Ham this summer after helping the Hammers win the UEFA Europa League.
Mason Mount, a Chelsea midfielder, was instead signed by Manchester United.

However, Sherwood believes that the Red Devils made a mistake by failing to recruit Harry Kane and Rice.
“For me, the signing of the season will eventually be Declan Rice,” he told No Tippy Tappy Football.
“I truly believe that.” I believe he is the player Arsenal required.
“I’m just amazed that Manchester United didn’t sign him and Harry Kane.”
