ThankGod Omori Smith, also known as TG Omori or Boy Director, a famous Nigerian music director and cinematographer, has now revealed why he stopped filming for singer Asake.
Remember that Omori and Asake collaborated on the big hit “Organize” in 2022?
However, speculations circulated when Asake hired a different director for his most recent music videos.
Asake was said to be dissatisfied with TG because their most recent attempt, “YOGA,” did not gain as much notice as his previous videos.
In an interview with Zero Condition podcast, TG discussed his business relationship with Asake, emphasizing that Olamide, the artist and CEO of YBNL record label, believes in giving people opportunity, and it would be unfair to hold that against him.
“Even when husband and wife divorce, people have a break.” We’ve done about 12 videos, so I think we’ve done enough. We’re still quite calm. You understand that this is a business, and at the end of the day, you must respect your client’s decisions.
“I like when artistes have the freedom to try out new things. I don’t want because we are guys you must shoot with me. I don’t know why that happened.
“To me it is crazy love because me and YBNL are forever. And you know how me and Olamide ‘go like way back’, and Olamide is a type that makes sure that everybody eats. And before I came, he was working with other directors and he gave me the opportunity to also do my thing.
“So he’s working with a very creative guy now. A very good guy that’s doing well too. That’s Olamide for you. And if I take that personal, then I have messed up.”
