Ibrahim Suleiman, an actor, has revealed why it’s not always a good idea to tease others about their flaws.
According to the actor, who related an encounter with a buddy, people teased him for not understanding how to drive. When he asked what kept the said friend from learning to drive, he admitted that he was deeply damaged after surviving an accident that killed two people when he was 15 years old.
Suleiman posted on Twitter;
“I recently met someone (M.43) who cannot drive and has never attempted to learn. He was getting mocked about it, and we were all laughing, but I felt his uneasiness. Later that day, I inquired about the true story.
He was apparently involved in a horrific vehicle crash when he was 15 years old, in which two of his childhood friends died. It left a severe mark on him. Not everyone decides to do things differently than the majority of people. I apologised to him for teasing him when everyone else was, and I made sure to warn the others to stay away from the subject.
“I’m not a swimmer. Something occurred to me when I was much younger (I won’t get into details), and it has left me afraid of being completely submerged in water. I’m frequently teased about it. I simply laugh it off because, well, personality. But not everyone can chuckle their way through adversity. Let us be gentle.”
