Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has been bestowed with a new title by the Muslim community, receiving the honor of Arowoshadinni from the ABD Azeez Islamic Foundation.
The movie star, who embraced Islam after marrying filmmaker Kazim Adeoti, shared the news on her Instagram page where she expressed gratitude for the recognition.
In her announcement, the actress reintroduced herself as Hajia Minnah Anulouwapo Mercy Adeoti (Arowoshadinni) and requested that others kindly include the new title when referring to her.
Mercy Aigbe extended a big thank you to the ABD Azeez Islamic Foundation for the honor.
She wrote, “Let me Re-Introduce myself. Hajia Minnah Anulouwapo Mercy Adeoti (Arowoshadinni) . So henceforth kindly add Arowoshadinni to my name. Big Thank you to ABD AZEEZ ISLAMIC FOUNDATION for this honor!”.
While many of her fans celebrated the news, a Muslim critic in the comments expressed discontent, stating that everything in life now revolves around money and suggesting that this isn’t the Islam the Prophet left for them.
“Hmmmm, this is really not the Islam the Prophet left for us anymore. It’s all about money,” he wrote.
However, other fans defended Mercy Aigbe, questioning the critic’s objections and affirming their support for her.
Ayobami wrote, “Keeps crying Prophet secretary,” Rukky Stitches commented, “Eni problem daddy wa,” and Haybee World concurred with the critic, stating, “This life just has money.” Another critic, Easy Biddy, remarked, “You can say that again. The religion has been manipulated.”
