Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The two politicians, both affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were seen shaking hands during their meeting on Tuesday amid impeachment plans against Governor Sim Fubara allegedly orchestrated by Nyeson Wike.
The meeting, seemingly related to the impeachment proceedings against Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly, appeared to have taken place during a session of the Nigeria Police Council.
This council is a constitutional body responsible for overseeing the organization and administration of the Nigeria Police Force and is chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
The Nigeria Police Council comprises the governors of each state in the Federation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and the Inspector-General of Police.
KanyiDaily recalls that Rivers State House of Assembly was set ablaze by unknown assailants amid an impeachment move by Nyesom Wike against Governor Sim Fubara.
