KanyiDaily recalls that last year, the two most famous stand-up comedians in Nigeria confirmed that they were not on talking terms for 17 years.

In March, AY Makun revealed that their misunderstanding began in 2006 over unpaid N30,000 fees for a show he had hosted for Basketmouth.

Responding to AY’s comments at the time, Basketmouth dismissed them as lies. He also expressed his desire to never talk to AY Makub again.

However, in a recent video shared on his Instagram page, Basketmouth extended an apology to AY, referring to him as “my guy.” He expressed a desire for reconciliation and harmony between them.

Addressing others in the industry and beyond whom he might have offended, Basketmouth also issued a sincere apology, acknowledging the possibility of his actions affecting people’s careers.

Basketmouth also addressed the speculation that the apology might be linked to his upcoming show on November 26th, admitting that it was a factor.

“Now to my guy AY, I do not know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me. And I want you to know that I forgive whatever you did or said knowingly or unknowingly. It is gone. I just want us to live in peace and harmony.

“Now for the people that are thinking or assuming that this apology is birthed because I have a show coming up on the 26th of November.

“I would like to say this, you are absolutely correct. I am trying to sell tickets for my show. But I am also sorry for everything I have done.”
