According to report, Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali is expected to get a 10-month ban from football, with Italian officials preparing to confirm his sentence for illicit betting.
Tonali’s lawyers are in talks with authorities and the Italian Football Federation to reach an agreement after he reportedly placed illicit bets at his former club AC Milan.
The Italian international, who joined Newcastle for £55 million in the summer, will, however, be available for the club’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.

The suspension is expected to go into force on Thursday.
Tonali will miss the balance of Newcastle’s current 2023/24 season if his 10-month punishment begins on Thursday.
The 23-year-old would also miss the first few weeks of the 2024-2025 season and would be ruled out of Italy’s Euro 2024 campaign.
Tonali will not be permitted to play until late August 2024, although he will be able to practise with Eddie Howe’s team during his suspension.
