Tonto Dikeh, a famous Nollywood actress turned politician, has alleged that Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Records, has important political supporters.
This was revealed by the actress in response to Naira Marley’s tweet following his detention by police on Tuesday evening following a probe into the circumstances surrounding the murder of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed on X on Tuesday night that Naira Marley had been detained shortly after his return to Nigeria.
Naira Marley also posted on his X a few minutes later, saying, “I would like to share that I have just returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation.”

Tonto Dikeh responded to this on her Instagram page, saying that in a just society, Naira Marley would be handcuffed and not tweeting about his return on his phone.
Tonto analysed the singer’s confidence in police detention, saying, “Look who has returned to NIGERIA to assist the police in their investigation of why he and Sam Larry tortured Mohbad.”
“I ask once more, who is safeguarding Naira Marley? Instead of having a phone to tweet, he should be in shackles and chains in the right country.
“Naira Marley’s confidence looks to me like he has some top political underdogs by his side.”
Kanyidaily reports that following the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, were accused of having a hand in Mohbad’s tragic death after a series of documents and videos of the duo subjecting Mohbad to relentless bullying for leaving the record label surfaced on social media.
