Jimmy Butler, the NBA player, has described Latin pop singer Shakira as a ‘wonderful human being’ amid romance rumours surrounding the potential coupling.
Following her breakup from former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique last year, the 34-year-old Heat star was spotted hanging out with the ‘Whenever, Wherever’ singer throughout the summer.
The Colombian has also been linked to Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, with whom she spent time after the Miami Grand Prix in May.
Asked about reports that he and ‘Shak’ are coupling up, Butler, who’s starting his 13th NBA season, said: ‘She’s an amazing human being and an incredible talent.
“But you never know what people are up to, so people just make something up,’ he added to Rolling Stone. ‘Just because we’re friends, she lives in Miami, and her sons are huge basketball fans doesn’t imply we’re dating.’
‘Just because people get together doesn’t mean they’re dating.
‘However, it offers everyone something to speak about, so take it and run with it.

Butler also stated how important his daughter, Rylee, who was born in 2019, means to him throughout the conversation.
According to Hello!, the six-time All-Star has been in a long-term relationship with his rarely seen girlfriend, Kaitlin Nowak, ‘for years’.
The couple does not follow one other on social media and does not share images of themselves together because they desire to keep their romance private.
