On Sunday, October 1, Ilebaye Odiniya was crowned Big Brother Naija All Stars Season winner after 72 days.
Cross, Pere, Adekunle, CeeC, Mercy, and Ilebaye were the six finalists that remained in the home.
The night began with Cross getting evicted, followed by Pere and Cross, leaving Ceec, Mercy, and Ilebaye in the top three, the first time in Big Brother Naija history that the top three are all female.
Ceec was the next person ousted during the night, leaving Mercy Eke and Ilebaye as the last two.
Ilebaye, who was born in Kogi, wins a cash award of N120 million as well as other enticing gifts.
Kanyidaily examines reason that contributed to Ilebaye’s victory.
Bullying
Ilebaye didn’t stand a chance in the show given her age. The Gen Z baddie was made a target and bullied by the majority of the housemates since he was the youngest in the house.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Ike scattered her locker and dumped her clothing on the bathroom floor while she slept, an action aimed to elicit a reaction from her in order to get her removed from the programme. This act occurred following a discussion between Ike, Kiddwaya, Seyi, and Pere.
She already received two strikes after narrowly avoiding disqualification after an incident with CeeC the week before. Venita and Seyi witnessed the situation and reacted accordingly.
Ilebaye’s reaction was unexpected, as she gathered up her garments and put them away quietly. This elicited emotions from fans who believed Ike had gone too far with his behaviour, and it ultimately changed the game for Ilebaye.
Strategy
The Big Brother show is a game with a lot at risk in terms of prize money and possibilities, and it’s necessary to have a strategy if you want to win.
Ilebaye was the youngest at 22 years old, yet she played a calculated game. With her honesty and highlights, she surely got viewers and fans alike interested on the show, from her numerous altercations to her alleged romance with Cross and winning wager challenges.
