According to authorities, Boopac Shakur, an online celebrity known for exposing alleged sexual predators, was shot and died after confronting two teens late Friday night.
According to an Oakland County sheriff’s office news release, Robert Wayne Lee, 40, frequently pretends as a 15-year-old girl online to lure out and expose suspected paedophiles.
He shared videos of his exploits with his Facebook and Instagram followers.
Lee accosted two youngsters, ages 17 and 18, at a Pontiac eatery on Friday night, Sept. 29. According to a police news release, he accused one of being a paedophile and hit him.

According to authorities, the adolescent who was hit pulled out a knife, while the other – believed to be the 17-year-old – shot Lee numerous times with a pistol.
He was rushed to the hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
The suspects fled but were apprehended Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30, according to police. Their identities have not been published by the sheriff’s office.

According to the announcement, Lee’s “one-man crusade has resulted in the arrest and criminal charges being filed against several men, but he has also mistakenly identified someone as a sexual predator who was not.”
“While we certainly understand his desire to hold child predators accountable, many times well-intentioned individuals who engaged in this don’t know the standard of evidence required for convictions and often underestimate the potential for violence confronting a suspected predator,” sheriff Michael Bouchard stated.
Detectives are anticipated to refer the case to prosecutors for charges, according to police.
