Nigerian skitmaker, Carter Efe has found himself entangled in a dispute with emerging singer, Young Duu, who accused him of appropriating his song ‘Oyinmo.’
Earlier yesterday, Young Duu took to social media to publicly confront Carter Efe for what he perceived as an attempt to exploit him.
Duu vented his frustration in an Instagram live session, expressing dissatisfaction that Efe had performed ‘Oyinmo’ at an event without involving him.
The singer vehemently asserted that Efe, known as a comedian, was attempting to claim credit and benefits from his musical efforts.
Young Duu, having parted ways with his former boss, Portable, lamented finding himself in a seemingly worse situation with people seeking to take advantage of him.
Reacting during an Instagram live session, Carter Efe refuted the accusations, reminding Young Duu of the assistance he provided in the production of the music video and other logistical arrangements.
Efe questioned whether Duu was cognizant of the dedication and effort he invested in bringing the project to fruition.
He stressed that the music industry extends beyond seeking attention and urged artists to consider how they present their work to the audience.
The comedian expressed frustration with the prevailing perception that collaborations with him lead to accusations of exploitation.
He encouraged aspiring musicians to acknowledge the collaborative nature of the creative process and advised against solely focusing on negative narratives.
