The mother of Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola, the young boy who went viral a few years ago for pleading with his mummy to “Calm Down,” has reportedly commited suicide.
In 2020, a viral video captured the touching moment when a young boy knelt and tearfully pleaded with his mother to “calm down and rest a little” before purnishing him.
The video resonated with numerous people, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, invited the woman and her son to meet him.
A fresh report shared by Twitter user, Samuel, said that the woman ended her life without confiding in anyone about her struggles in Benin, Edo State.
He wrote, “The woman featured in the viral ‘Mummy Calm down’ video has sadly taken her own life here in Benin. She chose to suffer in silence, leaving behind three children for her husband, including the well-known ‘Mummy Calm down’ boy.”
KanyiDaily had published the video showing Lawal-Babalola crying and negotiating with his mother who wanted to punish him for doing something she warned him not to do.
