Oyo State-based chef, Tope Maggie has embarked on a 200-hour cooking marathon, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record.
Tope Maggie, who announced the cooking marathon attempt via his Instagram page, shared photos and videos from his quest while seeking for support.
It was gathered that the cooking marathon is happening at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club, and it began around 6 pm on Thursday, November 9, 3023.
The Oyo chef, at the time of filing this report, has surpassed 10 hours of continuous cooking and he is seeking approval from Guinness World Records.
His goal is to surpass the current record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes. Fisher recently broke the record previously held by Akwa Ibom chef, Hilda Baci.

This comes three days after Alan Fisher set a new individual record for the longest cooking marathon, achieving an astounding time of 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing Hila Baci’s previous record by over 24 hours.
