President Bola Tinubu is set to join other heads of state and government in Guinea Bissau to commemorate the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary and Armed Forces Day on Thursday.
This engagement follows Tinubu’s long-week participation in the Saudi-Africa summit held on November 10 during a week-long visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
President Tinubu’s visit to Bissau marks his second trip to the country during his administration, this time at the invitation of President Umaro Embalo.
A statement from the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said Guinea Bissau celebrated its 50th Independence Anniversary on September 24, 2023, but the government had scheduled all celebrations for November 16.
President Buhari is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, Ngelale added.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu recently said that poverty, though not a source of shame, is deemed unacceptable under his leadership in Nigeria.
