Rapper ASAP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) is scheduled to stand trial on charges stemming from an alleged shooting involving his old childhood buddy Terell Ephron.
The incident, which occurred two years ago, came to light lately after a viral video surfaced showing ASAP Rocky allegedly firing a revolver at Ephron.
It was confirmed on the second day of a court hearing that ASAP Rocky will face trial on charges of discharging a pistol during a dispute with Ephron, causing minor injuries. The rapper has submitted a not guilty plea.
Rocky is now facing two felony counts of assault with a firearm, and if convicted, he could face up to nine years in jail.
The charges come from an incident between the rapper and Ephron, who was a member of the A$AP Mob hip-hop collective and knew ASAP Rocky since they were in high school together in New York.

In a separate case, Ephron claims that ASAP Rocky purposely lured him to a secret place outside the W Hotel in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, to address a disagreement, and that he is a victim of assault and battery, negligence, and emotional anguish.
The encounter was videotaped, and a video circulating on social media purports to show Rakim brandishing and discharging a gun.
However, ASAP Rocky’s legal team denies that he is the person depicted in the video.
ASAP Rocky, who is currently in a relationship with music icon Rihanna, has risen to fame in the music industry.
The couple shares two children. The rapper gained prominence with support from artists like Drake and has collaborated with various musicians, including Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, Skepta, Selena Gomez, and Kendrick Lamar.
