Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has urged Nigerians to stop donating money to ailing Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
VeryDarkMan stated this while eacting to reports that Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris ordered the arrest of his adopted daughter, Chioma Jasmine, and his sons.
KanyiDaily recalls thaf Nollywood actress Doris Ogala claimed that Jasmine and Mr Ibu’s sons were apprehended and are currently being held at Alagbon Police Station.
The actress alleged that Mr Ibu’s wife is accusing Jasmine for moving N300 million out of the actor’s account.
She said that Stella Maris wants to use the funds intended for her husband’s treatment to purchase a new house.
Reacting in a video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan expressed his surprise at the revelation that the money amassed for Mr. Ibu’s well-being had reached N300 million.
The social media activist, who has been actively engaged in Mr. Ibu’s health journey by advocating for donations and making hospital visits, provided in-depth on the ongoing conflict between the ailing actor’s family.
He questioned the family’s decision to withhold significant information from the public while continuing to accept donations.
VeryDarkMan pointed out that the family’s action to extract N300 million suggests that the total donations have surpassed half a billion naira.
Stressing that such a sum should be sufficient for Mr. Ibu’s healthcare, he urged Nigerians to stop donating, warning against unintentionally enriching the family through the ongoing contribution process.
VeryDarkMan firmly asserted that Mr. Ibu’s family, particularly his wife, seems to prioritize the donated funds over the well-being of the ailing actor.
He pledged to refrain from using his platform to seek funds for the time being, leaving the possibility of a change in stance in the future.
Sharing the video, he wrote “So Mr ibu wife said Jasmine moved 300 million from the money the public contributed,so they have made up to 300 million naira, wow anyways to my followers you guys should stop contributing for Mr ibu, they have enough money❌ do not contribute anything for Mr IBU again❌ if you do na you sabi.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Stella Maris recently apologized to the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for her previous online allegations against the union.
