Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Fabio Vieira will be out for several weeks following groyne surgery.
Vieira was absent from training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Lens.
Arteta has now stated that the 23-year-old will be sidelined for some time.

Due to a suspension, the Portugal midfielder missed Arsenal’s Premier League match against Brentford at the weekend, but he was anticipated to return against Lens.
“We’ve got a problem with him. He’s been having some discomfort,” Arteta told reporters.
“He wasn’t improving and we sent him to a specialist; the advice was to have an operation, which we did yesterday. We expect him to be out for weeks now.”
