Peter Akanni Akorede, a veteran juju musician known professionally as Emperor Pick Peter of the ‘Omode de’ fame, has died.
Pick Peters, 74, reportedly died on Thursday after a brief illness.
In a post on her Facebook page, popular music promoter and Evergreen Music boss Bimbo Esho confirmed his death, writing, “Omo Ode Ti Ku – The Hunter’s Son is Dead.”

“Everyone who enjoys Juju music should recognise his name.” Emperor Pick Peters, one of Nigeria’s greatest Juju musicians, died today in Abeokuta at the age of 74.
“May his Gentle Soul rest in peace.”
