Victor AD, a popular singer, has finally addressed the rumours that he wrote Davido’s hit song ‘Jowo.’
Kanyidaily recalls a report that went viral on X (formerly Twitter) a few months ago claiming Victor AD claimed Davido “stole” his hit song ‘Jowo’ during a studio session.
However, in a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, the Warri-born music star clarified that the song was not written by him.
He claimed that the rumours nearly destroyed his relationship with Davido.

“From nowhere, someone speculating that Victor AD wrote [Davido’s] ‘Jowo.'” I’m not very good at social media. Most of the time, I find out about events on social media two days after they have trended.
“My manager actually brought the ‘Jowo’ controversy to my attention on social media, but I didn’t take it seriously.” Later, I said, “Let me just check the social media trend.” Then I saw Davido’s message a few hours later. ‘Whatsup, na?’ he said. Wettin dey sup with this whole ‘Jowo’ thing?’. And I stated that I knew nothing about it.
“I told him that because I love and respect him, I couldn’t do anything that would harm his reputation. I’m not even the type of person who will claim to be someone I’m not. “Why would I seek credit for something I didn’t do?”
Davido and Victor AD have stopped following each other on social media since the incident.
The duo worked together on ‘Tyre You’ before their relationship soured after Victor AD accused Davido of song theft.
