Chiamaka Nnadozie of the Super Eagles has been named Africa’s greatest custodian at the CAF Awards.
On Monday, December 11, the Paris FC sensation defeated Moroccan shot-stopper Khadija El-Rmichi and South African Andile Olaminii to win the honour.
Nnadozie performed admirably in the Women’s World Cup encounter against Canada, making three saves, including a 50th-minute penalty save against Christine Sinclair, as the game ended in a goalless draw.
Her game performances earned her a Player of the Match award and international recognition.
In her award speech, the 23-year-old stated, “I just want to use this great opportunity to say a very big thank you to the organisers and also for remembering the female custodian this year.”
Kanyidaily recalls that Osimhen and Oshoala won African Footballer Of The Year respectively.
