Ekiti Govt Declares Three Days of Mourning For Akeredolu
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has announced three days of mourning for the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away on Wednesday
Akeredolu, until his demise, served as the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum and South West Governors Forum.
According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Gov. Oyebanji declared the three-day state mourning on Friday.
During the three days of mourning, all flags at public buildings across the state will be flown at half-mast.
Meanwhile, Oyebanji, who had previously conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Ondo State, visited the family of the late Akeredolu at their Ibadan residence on Friday to offer his condolences
Recall that the Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde, had also previously declared a three-day mourning in his state in honor of the late Akeredolu
His declaration followed that of Ondo State, which had taken the lead in announcing three days of mourning in honor of Akeredolu
Kanyi Daily recalls that Olabisi Kolawole, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ekiti governorship election, had congratulated Biodun Oyebanji, for his victory at the polls.
