Temilade Openiyi, also known as Tems, a Grammy-winning Nigerian musician, has disclosed that she received death threats as a result of pregnancy allegations.
Kanyidaily reports that Tems fueled pregnancy suspicions after she was photographed at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show, rocking a black dress with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels, and many thought that the way the clothing was clinging to her body hinted that she was pregnant.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, the Oscar-nominated diva said she received social media DMs questioning the choice of American rapper Future, who was allegedly responsible for her supposed pregnancy.
Tems stated she has never met the American rapper, despite them working together on the rapper’s Grammy-winning song, ‘Wait For U’ alongside Drake.
“When I heard [the rumours] that I was pregnant, I didn’t think anyone believed it,” she remarked. I didn’t realise it was serious until I started getting texts like “How dare you?” Of all the individuals in the world, Future, really?’ And I’ve never met him in my life. So it’s insane.”
During the interview, Tems also stated that she “would like to direct a video for Asake.”
She said: “I love him. I can see he’s a talented artist.”
She explained that her likeness for the YBNL star is “just for work, just to direct his music video.
Kanyidaily recalls that Tems celebrated Ayra Starr and Tyla on their Grammy Award Nominations.
