Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has expressed her frustration with people pressuring her to give birth to another child.
In an interview with TVC “Your View”, Toyin Abraham said that people seem indifferent to her struggles and persistently speculate that she is expecting another child with her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.
The actress revealed that she finds it distressing to constantly respond to inquiries about when she plans to give her child a sibling.
She disclosed that even at a recent launch, her doctor had to be present due to the stress caused by such questions.
Toyin adviced netizens to refrain from probing into people’s personal matters, including inquiries about marriage plans, pregnancy, or family expansion.
The actress highlighted the lack of consideration, noting that people assume without understanding the challenges she might be facing, such as fertility issues or undergoing fertility treatments.
She expressed the emotional toll of such assumptions, recounting how people urged her to have another child, unaware of the battles she is silently facing.
Toyin urged for sensitivity and encouraged others to avoid making assumptions about people’s personal lives without knowing the full story.
“More than traumatic. People ask me when am giving birth. I have a son and God gave me a daughter (from her husband’s previous relationship).
“I have a son and a daughter yet people ask me when I will give birth to another. Telling me that Ire, my son is already old enough for a sibling. I would smile and tell them very soon and they would tell me don’t say very soon.
“They don’t even know what I am battling with. Even on my premiere day, my doctor was there, he had to be on standby for me.
“Don’t ask questions, a few weeks ago people thought I was pregnant because I had a tummy, you do t even know what was wrong with me.
. You don’t even know if I am on fertility drugs or on a fertility journey, so stop telling people when are you guys to be a mother,” she said.
KanyiDaily recalls that Toyin Abraham recently shared her experience of being physically assaulted on a movie set in London.
