Corporal Hannah Reuben, a member of the Nigerian Army, has won a gold medal at the ongoing 36th World Military Wrestling Championship in Azerbaijan.
Representing the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the women’s 76kg event, Reuben’s victory was highlighted in a short video shared on the Nigerian Army’s verified social media handle on Saturday.
The accomplished soldier had previously secured a silver medal in the same weight category at the 2022 and 2023 African Wrestling Championships.
In expressing her gratitude, Corporal Reuben acknowledged the support of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, and other service chiefs, emphasizing the exceptional preparations provided for the tournament.
She credited the success to the comprehensive logistics that contributed to the team’s excellence on the international stage.
