Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy,
said that state governors have no reason to fail their people as they are well-supported by Tinubu’s administration.
He stated that the 36 states have received significant backing from president Tinubu’s administration, having recently been granted N7 billion each for infrastructure support, in addition to the earlier N2 billion allocated as fuel subsidy relief
According to him, “the 36 states have enjoyed overwhelming support from President Tinubu’s administration, having recently been given N7 billion each for infrastructure support, in addition to the N2 billion earlier given as fuel subsidy palliative”.
He pointed out that the funds allocated to all levels of government have been progressively rising since June.
Onanuga believed that it was important for the media to oversee the states to ensure the prudent utilization of the funds they received.
In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Onanuga encouraged governors to allocate funds towards infrastructure like roads, emphasizing its potential to generate employment opportunities.
“State governors thus have no reason not to do a lot for their people, instead of the obsession with the centre. In spending money on roads and other infrastructure, many jobs will be created and people will have money to spend
“Let the states therefore get cracking to give succour to our people. Let the mass media also monitor the states to ensure that the funds are wisely spent,” he said.
Kanyi Daily recalls that Bayo Onanuga had expressed optimism that Nigerians will soon experience positive changes under this administration.
