Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has passed away in Lagos on Wednesday at the age of 67.
Akeredolu’s death follows a prolonged struggle with leukemia and prostate cancer, both of which rendered him incapacitated for an extended period.
The Ondo governor had been under the care of State House doctors until his passing because they could not fly him abroad for medical treatment.
“Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,” a reliable source told Vanguard. “They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”
The ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany and only recently proceeded on another one after he was directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
KanyiDaily recalls that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu took a medical leave last week Wednesday after delegating power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
