A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Adamu Garba believes that Nyesom Wike would be nothing without his current position as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He contends that Wike’s political capital relies solely on his present position
Garba is of the view that “If Wike ceases to be FCT minister, the loyalty from his current team cannot be guaranteed”.
He shared this insight in a post on his X handle on Monday.
Garba cautioned APC to be mindful not to inherit unnecessary hostility from the people.
The statement was issued in response to the political turmoil in Rivers State, which resulted in 27 lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“As it stands now, the only thing holding Wike’s political capital is the seat as the FCT Minister. If he ceases to be FCT minister, the loyalty from his current team cannot be guaranteed.
“Most importantly, Rivers State is a traditional PDP domain. Most of the establishments in Rivers are for the PDP, the traditional rulers are for the PDP and the people at the grassroots have been with the PDP,” he wrote
“We must be careful not to inherit some unnecessary enmity from the people we truly need for the sake of our future election victories,” he added.
Kanyi Daily recalls that Adamu Garba had commended the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi for visiting the Muslim community in Onitsha, Anambra State.
