A 30-year-old man, Dada Isiaka, has been arrested by Osun State Amotekun operatives for the alleged defilement of a 9-year-old girl.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, revealed the arrest of Isiaka, who was nabbed in Ada on Tuesday, while addressing journalists on Thursday in Osogbo.
Adewinmbi explained that Isiaka was arrested for luring the minor to an unfinished building in Ada town, Boripe local government area of the state.
Adewinmbi mentioned that during the incident, the girl raised an alarm, attracting the attention of residents, who promptly notified Amotekun Boripe Command about the situation.
“The operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the suspect on the spot.
“The suspect admitted that he committed the offense.”
The Osun Amotekun boss clarified that the suspect was a former convict, arrested in the past for theft, and had served a three-month jail sentence.
He stated that the suspect was turned over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
Adewinmbi appealed to state residents, urging them to report any suspicious movements in their areas to security agents for swift action.
